Temple Grandin will be on the AWN Radio show tomorrow morning to give the Autism Women’s Network her first exclusive interview following the Premiere of HBO’s Original Movie which premiered a few hours ago.

    Thanks. I guess I was one of about 30 people there because of this post. When Ben was little, she was all I had to hold on to besides “Rain Man”…the sum of what I knew about autism when Ben was first diagnosed.
    Although she doesn’t seem to have the heart for the severely autistic like most neurodiversity proponents do, I believe she is open to it as evidenced by her interest in Augmented Communication. Scientifically, we are in the dark ages as far as understanding…and she would propel us in the right direction. I think she is an ally.

    I think she is an ally too and I really enjoyed the interview. Loved the movie too. She has a scientific mind and seems open to learning more about things in order to draw the most informed conclusion. Awesome that she will add the augmented communication stuff to her talks. Thanks for bringing it up Katie Miller :)
