Happy and Gay

Happy Gay Pride Day everyone! Actually gay pride day was yesterday, but it was a busy weekend and I was too tired to do anything besides being gay.

Karen and Lori - SF Gay Pride Parade 2009
Karen and I had a great weekend of celebrating being queers, knowing queers, the queers that came before us, and queerness in general
Saturday night was the dyke march. Highlights were dykes on bikes, Sistah Boom, and Marga Gomez.
On Sunday, we walked in the parade with AHP (that’s where Karen works, for those following along at home). We were one of the last contingents in line, so didn’t get to see much of the parade, but it was nice to celebrate with K’s work people. They got many well deserved cheers from the folks watching all along Market St.
It was a great weekend even though I was completely overwhelmed more than a few times. Easy to get overwhelmed when you are surrounded by a million people in 90 degree heat! Not to mention a million sounds and colors and smells. How come people say “not to mention…” as a way of mentioning something?

The end of your second sentence made me laugh.
I am glad you had a good day, despite the heat.

My first time here in your blog. Anyway, i think celebrating gay day is important because it shows that your proud of who you are, which is excellent. No one has the authority to judge anyone so i support this Gay Pride Day. Cheers!
