  It could also be a sign of an infection.

  And if it IS lymphoma, I’ve known people with even “advanced” lymphoma who are disease free 7 years after diagnosis/treatment.

  I won’t tell you not to worry, because that won’t do any good. But remember, whatever is there is there, and knowing about it and getting treatment will bring you closer to getting back to “normal”.

  Try to hang in there.

  About 9 out of 10 possible cancers turn out to be benign (this statistic comes from breast lumps, but I think it may be similar for your case)… you actually have a rather good chance of getting away without any aggressive treatment necessary. And, of course, most cancers are curable (including lymphoma).

  But I know that even when your rational mind is telling you it doesn’t do any good to worry, your subconscious will worry anyway… even if the chances are good that there’s no serious problem.

  So, whatever you do to relax, do it. You have today to enjoy… seize the moment.

  Aw man, Lori, I don’t know what to say except that I’m thinking of you and wishing hard that you get great news when you get the results of your biopsy. I imagine the wait until then will be very hard. I had a biopsy on a breast lump four years ago, and that wait seemed to last forever (results: benign).

  So, here are some warm, positive thoughts wafting your way from Alameda.

  Also, my brother was treated for cancer almost 20 years ago; he’s had no recurrence in all that time, and the chances now that his cancer will return are pretty much nil. As the first two commenters said, most cancers are curable, and treatment is getting better all the time.

  I know a fella that did not know what to do before he had lymphoma. His whole life was spent on hold.

  After his diagnosis, he started to actually do the things he put off. He is a happy man.

  as i’ve mentioned to you elsewhere, i am totally here for you. you’ve done many good things for me, and i… look at this from a selfish perspective: you are definitely a worthwhile part of my life, all sorts of perks, so it’s in my best interests to take the time to help you thru this how i can.

  if we were on the same warcrack server, i’d send you 100 gold, and hold a fundraiser for you. cuz, well, it’s not like i’m going to actually hug you (lol rina) or anything. =)

  I have had a fair size lump just above my collarbone for about a year now. I never mentioned it to my doctor because I didn’t want to know. Well I went in today for flu like symptons, have not been feeling well for some time now. I showed the lump that has gotten quite large and he seemed quite concerned. I am booked now for an ultrasound and I guess we will go from there. What are some of the causes of this besides lymphoma?
